Carmen Williams, MS, CGC, Lead Genetic Counselor
Carmen Williams is an instructor in the Feinberg School of Medicine. She received her master’s degree in genetic counseling from Northwestern University in 2013 and was certified by the ABGC later that year. She started her career in genetic counseling as a member of the cancer genetics team at the University of Michigan where she gained experience in cancer risk assessment and coordination of medical management for a broad range of genetic syndromes including Lynch syndrome, polyposis conditions (FAP, JPS, PJS), Li-Fraumeni syndrome, and Von Hippel-Lindau disease.
In 2015, she joined the Northwestern Cancer Genetics Program where she provides hereditary cancer risk assessment and counseling. Her research interests include implementation science and the clinical application of personalized medicine in oncology settings.
